Invoice capture for Xero and QuickBooks

PaperHound finds your supplier invoices, extracts the details, and files them in Xero — no forwarding, no manual entry. Then it does what other capture tools don't: checks every payment actually has an invoice behind it, so nothing slips through.

Stop forwarding, scanning, and typing

Manual invoice capture is death by a thousand small tasks — forwarding emails, snapping photos, keying in totals. PaperHound automates the whole path from invoice to Xero:

Finds invoices in your email — connects to your inbox and identifies real supplier invoices.

Extracts the data — supplier, date, amount, VAT — with template-free AI that handles first-time vendors.

Attaches them in Xero — filed against the right transaction, ready for your bookkeeper.

Capturing invoices isn't the same as having them all

Every capture tool files the invoices it's given. None of them tell you about the invoice that never arrived. That's the gap that shows up at audit.

PaperHound closes it. Because it also reads your Xero bank feed, it knows every payment you've made — so it can tell you which payments have no invoice captured yet, and go find them. Capture plus reconciliation, in one tool.

Works on invoices it's never seen

Extraction is now table stakes — so PaperHound treats it that way. AI-based capture reads any supplier's invoice layout, including vendors you've never billed with before, without pre-built templates. Accurate data, no setup per supplier.

Built for the accounting software you already use

PaperHound is built Xero-first — deep integration with the Xero bank feed and bills — with QuickBooks support planned. It fits the stack a UK small business already runs, rather than asking you to move.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is invoice capture?

Automatically pulling supplier invoices out of email (or wherever they arrive), extracting the key data, and filing them in your accounting software.

Do I have to forward invoices manually?

No. PaperHound connects to your inbox and finds supplier invoices itself, then attaches them in Xero.

How is this different from Dext or AutoEntry?

Those capture the invoices you receive. PaperHound also checks your Xero payments to catch the invoices you didn't receive — the ones that would otherwise go missing. Xero retired Hubdoc in May 2026, so its free capture option is gone — PaperHound is one of the replacements, with reconciliation built in.

Does it work with QuickBooks?

Xero is supported first; QuickBooks support is planned.
